Music for the Soul was a series of music workshops that took place in two asylum seeker shelters in the northern Netherlands – Gasthuis in Groningen and Wapen in Vries – from September 2023 to January 2024. The project was designed and facilitated by Melisa Delgado and Jelena Veskovic in collaboration with Stichting INLIA.

We aimed to provide an environment of openness and acceptance that encouraged creative exploration and playfulness through music-making. But above all, we aimed to encourage community bonding and social bridging.

The workshop series concluded with an afternoon of music-making at De Silo in Groningen with residents of INLIA's Wapen shelter and local amateur musicians, led by guest workshop leader Edwin van der Wolf (percussionist).
